Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel Review

My Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel review is a reflection of our own experience during our stay.

YTF OVERALL RATING:

Before diving into this Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel review, I will have to confess to the real reason I chose this place. One day, I jokingly looked up www.cadogan.com (to buy the domain). Little did I know that there was a branded hotel with my last name! You can probably guess where I’m heading with this story. Eve r since I discovered the existence of The Cadogan hotel in London, it became a sort of bucket list item to stay there. The idea of staying at a hotel bearing my last name just struck me as amusing! While I have yet to have the chance to travel to London, during my search for accommodations in Cape Town, I stumbled upon another hotel that shared my last name. When I realized it was not only aesthetically pleasing but also a boutique hotel (which, if you know Daniela, is a significant selling point), I had no reservations about booking our stay there!

But I disgree…It’s time for my Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel review!

THE STAFF: 5/5 STARS

We really appreciated the warm and friendly staff at the Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel. They had a way of making us feel right at home from the moment we stepped through the door. The welcome drink and snack were a nice touch, especially the delicious freshly baked lemon cupcakes that Daniela and I couldn’t resist. While they carted away our bags, they gave us a brief tour of the hotel grounds. The staff was also helpful in recommending great restaurants and activities to do in Cape Town. If available, they will even try to book reservations for you!

HOTEL ROOM: 5/5 STARS

HOTEL ROOM REVIEWED

Superior Double Room

Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel room-Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel Review

The rooms at the Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel are spacious, clean, and well-laid out with a combination of Victorian and modern styles. The bathroom comes filled with all the accessories you may have run out of while traveling through South Africa. We stayed in the Superior Double Room with a balcony.

Make sure to ask what is complimentary vs. what is charged to your room regarding fridge and snack draws. The Cadogan is located on local streets, and honestly, there is no need to use the snack bar since these snacks are readily available a short distance from the hotel. We were offered free Nespresso coffee, a variety of teas, and, as a unique touch, a pack of immunity supplements.

The bathroom, which has both a shower and bathtub, comes with an impressive variety of amenities that go way beyond the usual shower gel, shampoo, etc. (which, by the way, are top-notch quality). You will have SPF cream, body scrub, hand sanitizer, and more! During colder nights, turn-down service is provided, where they leave warmers in your bed and a couple of chocolates! It’s an added touch of excellence that leaves you thinking how thoughtful this establishment is. (Who wants to come back to a cold bed?!?!?!?).

HOTEL GROUNDS: 5/5 STARS

Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel common areas-Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel review

After exploring Cape Town, you can grab a drink or snack and relax in their lounge; on colder nights, the fireplace is an added touch where you can sit around and recap your adventures or plan your next day of events before returning to your room.

There is a 24-hour gym that you have access to, which is small in comparison but decently sized to carry all you need to get a complete workout in if you want to work off all the exquisite food you devoured the previous day. There are shared and personal pool areas around the facilities, all giving you an excellent view of Table Mountain on clear days.

Continental breakfast is served daily in the dining section of the hotel, providing you with a variety of choices and chef-prepared specials. You can also enjoy dinner at The Cape. Alternatively, you can head out and experience the nightlife by the pier or even close by one of the nearby restaurants or bars.

The hotel is located in the heart of Cape Town, making it the perfect base for exploring the city. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with many options, including fresh fruit, pastries, eggs, and bacon.

HOTEL LOCATION: 5/5 STARS

Located less than a 15-minute drive from Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront and a short walk from plenty of local shops and restaurants set the tone that you’ll always have things to do. This Victorian-style home is nestled in a relatively quiet neighborhood. The most noise we experienced was the birds chirping in the morning, setting the tone for the day.

OVERALL: 5/5 STARS

We highly recommend the Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and convenient stay in Cape Town. You will surely not regret choosing to stay here while visiting.
