Welcome To The YTFood Project!

Discover What It's All About and Let Us Know If You're Interested in Joining!

Our journey began when I (Daniela) stumbled upon a book called The Happiness of Pursuit by Chris Guillebeau, which showcased people embarking on various quests. One of these individuals, Sasha Martin, inspired us greatly. She made it her mission to cook a dish from every country in the world. You can explore her website here.

Both Dwayne and I share a deep love for food, so I eagerly approached him with the idea of starting a similar project. With his enthusiastic agreement, we wasted no time heading to an international supermarket we discovered online (for those residing in New York, it’s Food Bazaar Supermarket.

The Birth Of The Ytfood Project.

Beyond our passion for food, there are several reasons why we decided to embark on this culinary adventure of preparing a dish from every country. Food holds immense significance in every culture and nation, encompassing history, tradition, memories, love, and pride.

Although we adore traveling, it’s not possible to do so year-round. Hence, this project offers us a remarkable opportunity to explore other countries and connect with different cultures, even if only through their cuisine. While we cook regularly at home, we’re far from being professional chefs. Consequently, this venture enables us to step out of our comfort zones and challenge not only our taste buds but also our culinary skills.

We Want To Share This Project With You.

Through the YTFood Project, we aspire to inspire individuals to expand their horizons and embrace new experiences. Discovering fresh flavors, textures, and combinations can be truly transformative. While you may enjoy certain dishes and dislike others, the mere act of trying them and opening your mind is a victory in itself!

You’re not obligated to cook dishes from every country in the world; YTFood is also a platform where you can browse recipes or recreate those amazing dishes you encountered while traveling. Regardless of your choice, we sincerely hope you won’t be a stranger. This project and website are all about fostering a community of like-minded individuals. If you decide to embark on the quest of preparing a dish from every country or simply try one of our recipes, please do let us know. It would make our day! And if you share a photo using the hashtag #YTFood, you’ll make our entire week! 🙂 One more thing. While searching for recipes, we strive to find the most authentic ones by comparing several sources, but we can’t always guarantee accuracy. So, if you come across a recipe from your country, we would greatly appreciate your feedback.

Below are the initial recipes we experimented with—a delightful blend of national dishes from the countries we’ve explored thus far, along with others that piqued our curiosity.
