THE STAFF: 5 STARS
Staff is always available at all hours to assist with whatever needs are required. Upon arrival, you are welcomed by a resort staff member who explains in detail the key aspects of the resort, while another politely relieves you of any luggage to take to your room. Every staff member goes out of their way to be helpful, polite, and approachable. No matter what time of the day, you are always greeted with a smile. The staff’s energy alone says a lot about how much this place cares about the people staying at their establishment and the individuals who work for them.

We booked the Honeymoon Pool Hut but were upgraded to the Traditional Vietnamese Pool House. We were given the option since the room was available for the same duration of our stay. After completing a tour of the resort grounds, we were escorted to our room. First impression? Breathtaking. Everything looked identical to the rooms displayed on their website. Spacious, luxurious, and comfortable with a a lot of privacy. Inspired by Hue traditional architecture, the Vietnamese Pool House is truly a haven of tranquility with its own private swimming pool, and outside dining area. The accommodation also features a separate living room (in addition to the one in the bedroom, and pool area), as well as a detached bathroom with a stunning bath tub and shower.
Note: This is Vietnam, and it’s a humid climate, so expect to see bugs and or mosquitoes. Each day your room is cleaned, they do their best to smoke out any bugs that may have snuck into your hut overnight or while you were away exploring the beautiful city of Hue. We recommend taking extra precautions to bring your own deet spray, which you should use frequently during the course of your stay.

The grounds of Pilgrimage Village Boutique Resort & Spa are a picturesque blend of lush greenery, traditional Vietnamese architecture, and modern amenities, creating a tranquil haven for guests seeking a peaceful retreat. Spread across beautifully landscaped gardens and nestled amidst serene natural surroundings, the resort offers a range of facilities and experiences to cater to just about all of your needs.
One of the highlights of the resort is its stunning swimming pools; guests have multiple locations where they can relax and enjoy a nice swim in a lavish outdoor setting. The poolside area is adorned with comfortable loungers and shaded cabanas, perfect for soaking up the sun or relaxing with a refreshing drink or an assortment of small bites.
For those seeking ultimate relaxation, Pilgrimage Village’s Vedana Spa is a sanctuary of wellness and rejuvenation. The spa offers a variety of traditional Vietnamese and international treatments, including massages, facials, and body scrubs, using natural ingredients to soothe the mind, body, and soul. Daily complimentary Vinyasa yoga and Tai Chi classes are also available.
The resort also boasts several dining options that showcase the best of Vietnamese cuisine (two restaurants, a café where complimentary breakfast is served daily, a lobby bar, and a candle lounge). Junrei Restaurant offers a delightful selection of local dishes made with fresh ingredients sourced from nearby markets and the resort’s own garden. Guests can enjoy alfresco dining surrounded by tranquil ponds and lush greenery.
In addition to its recreational facilities and dining options, Pilgrimage Village offers unique cultural experiences, such as cooking classes where guests can learn to prepare traditional Vietnamese dishes and guided tours to explore nearby attractions like the Imperial City of Hue and local villages.

We were split on this; in some cases, you would like easy access to the city to immerse yourself in city life. On the other hand, you want to get away and have some peace and quiet. Though in a secluded and peaceful environment, Pilgrimage Village Boutique Resort & Spa is conveniently located near cultural and historical sites, allowing guests to explore the local attractions easily. With cost-friendly access to taxi services, there are plenty of options when venturing outside the resort grounds.
