Visiting @akshardhamusa is an experience like no other! #BAPSSwaminarayanAkshardham USA is a landmark of Hindu architecture and culture in Robbinsville, New Jersey, only 1 and a half hours away from NYC.
If you can, don’t miss the chance to visit this incredible place! After exploring the temple, save some time to stop by their gift shop, where you will find excellent products at very low prices!
When we went, we stocked up on natural hand-rolled incense sticks and natural supplements, but they also have beautiful coffee table books, statues, and much more! Also, indulge in some delicious all-vegetarian Indian food and stop by the supermarket for some traditional Indian treats!
Please keep in mind that visitors must reserve a free, timed slot for entry into the Akshardham on weekends, national holidays, and select Hindu festivals. This can be done easily on their official website or app. The temple is open daily from 9 AM to 7:30 PM. The campus is closed on Tuesdays.

It’s truly hard to believe that this magnificent place is only an hour and a half away from NYC! Located in Robbinsville, NJ, @akshardhamusa stands as the largest Hindu mandir in the United States and the second-largest Hindu mandir in the world, a testament to the grandeur of Hindu architecture and culture.
Construction of the magnificent BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir began in 2010. Crafted in the Nagaradi style, it used 68,000 cubic feet of Italian Carrara marble, meticulously carved by artisans in Rajasthan, India. The finished pieces were shipped to Robbinsville and assembled through sequential numbering, requiring around 4.7 million human hours from artisans and volunteers.

A taste of Johannesburg’s historic tour.
• Apartheid Museum
• Lunch break at Chaf Pozi set at the base of the iconic Orlando Towers in Soweto.
• Mandela’s House in Vilakazi Street (only street in the world to have produced 2 Nobel prize winners - Nelson Mandela and Reverend Desmond Tutu)
• Regina Mundi Church (The church was a meeting place for activists deprived of any other place to meet. It played a role in Soweto's most significant day – 16 June 1976 – when students, revolting against the imposition of Afrikaans teaching by the apartheid government, ran into the church. They were followed by police, who shot and injured many, firing teargas and damaging the marble altar and the figure of Christ, leaving bullet holes in the ceiling).
• Sanctuary Mandela (the home Madiba lived in after he returned from Robben Island. The property has become a beautiful boutique hotel used to fund the Nelson Mandela Foundation. It’s mesmerizing. We could have spent the entire day watching him shape beautiful pottery! If you have some extra time, we highly recommend visiting the small town of Avanos (about 15 mins by car from Göreme, Cappadocia). There are several pottery stores that also do workshops. We decided to stop by @kavakcomlekcilik and we loved it! Great people and honest prices (but don’t forget to bargain, it’s part of the game 😉).
